I have just got back from the UK, where I have spent some interesting days, visiting interesting people, making fruitful connections. Also, my dad came to visit – it was his first time traveling abroad. I guess it’s never too late to do anything… good times.
However, I have news for you fellow melomaniacs: a one-off EP, “it was all too much and i just couldn’t stop crying”, is now available on my bandcamp site. It’s a brand new project called The John Porno Funk Extravaganza. Some of you might remember the song “John Porno”, that I co-wrote with Markus Reuter, included on my second solo album “Dime Novels” (2014). Well, John expressed a desire to form his own band and record a bunch of songs… 🙂 I produced, engineered and mixed the EP. Honestly, this is a real labour of love, as I have also designed the artwork, wrote the songs, and edited the video for one of the tracks:
Now it’s your turn to show some love! Super limited edition of 69 copies, signed and numbered by me (or John… if you ask). Featuring drummer Roberto Segala on “Reform! Reform!” and “Telephone Manners”; touch guitarist Markus Reuter (Stick Men) and drummer Archie Caramba (Mr Mister) on the remix of “Big Juju Man”; and trumpet player Paolo Raineri (Ottone Pesante, Komara) on “Telephone Manners”. Sales of this EP will go towards the funding of my next solo record, which is going to be released in September. Please note, the physical EP contains a bonus track (a cover version of “The Train” by Tony Levin) not included in the digital download. Place your order on bandcamp – here!
